About the Farm:
Mountain View Farm is located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley and, as the name suggests, affords exceptional panoramic views of the mountains. The Christmas tree farm is operated by Steve and Sharon Rhoades, and their son Ken. It began in 2001 as we started replacing cattle pasture and crop fields with Christmas trees, and we now have 6 different species of trees. Steve and Sharon have been active members of the Virginia Christmas Tree Growers Association since 1998. We get a lot of satisfaction from producing an enjoyable, recyclable, biodegradable product.

Easy!!! Take I-66 to I-81 and go south. Turn off I-81 at Woodstock (exit 283). Go south on Senedo Road (Rt. 42) for 3.5 miles. Turn left onto Rittenour Road (Rt. 679), and go 0.2 miles to farm on the right. (We recommend not following GPS/Google directions to the Edinburg exit from I-81, exit 278.)

Our Environmental Practices:

  • No fertilizer used.
  • No general pesticide spraying.
  • Colorant not used on trees.
  • All trees are from nursery-grown seedlings.
  • No tilling of tree fields, preventing soil erosion.
  • Providing a biodegradable Christmas tree.
